Mark is survived by his wife of 25 years, Bobbie Beamer Harris. He was an only child but his extended family consisted of Bobbie's nephew and niece, Steven Gaultney and Denise Gaultney and her son, Ryan Romero. His closest friend was Ron Spell, and David and Mary Pat Helton were always there for him. The St. Edward's community was his biggest family. He spent most of his life working and helping people on the campus.
Mark grew up in San Antonio, TX where he graduated from Alamo Heights H.S. in 1973. Then he and his parents moved to Austin, while he studied at The University of Texas. He graduated with a B.A. in Business in 1978.
He loved animals, especially cats. He had 30+ but he always said Solo, who lived 20 years, was considered "the best cat ever".
Mark's passions were many: animals, NASCAR racing, TV and movies, collecting Hot Wheels, coins, stamps, sports cards, toys, and anything else that caught his fancy.
Mark lived life to the fullest and every day was an adventure for him. There aren't enough words in the universe to describe his time on earth.
Think of him with all the things he had a passion for and smile.
"Life is what happens while you are busy making other plans" – John Lennon.
