Mark Robert Taborsky age 59 of Austin passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2013. He was born on January 18, 1954 to Robert and Teresa Tabor in Cleveland, We are sad to announce the death of our dear Mark Taborsky on April 28, 2013.
Mark was born in Cleveland, Ohio January 18, 1954. He grew up with an interest in science and nature like his father. He also was an avid collector of comic books, bottle caps and rock specimens.
Around 1969 the whole family moved to Seattle Washington and Mark was attracted to the beautiful scenery there and laid back lifestyle. He enjoyed having many teenage friends and camping overnight in the woods.
In 1973 the family moved again to Arlington, Texas and Mark attended Lamar high school. He wore his hair long and this got the ire of the principal and so Mark graduated from Arlington, high school. Mark was very popular with the other "longhairs".
Mark had developed an interest in Psychology and ended up with a Masters of Social Work circa 1982.
Mark's gentleness and skill was so evident he was honored to be the first male to be hired at The Arlington Woman's Shelter as a counselor after college graduation.
Mark had a varied working career. He had his own sign painting business in Arlington, Texas and Cleveland, Ohio and also was Home Improvement Man in New York City.
Mark built outstanding, imaginative shelves and creative renovations for many people in New York City.
Mark was a great Uncle to his nephew Santiago. He was a wonderful brother to his sister Laura and a devoted son to his parents, Robert and Teresa Tabor. He was also a caring father to his daughter, Autumn Acheson of Dallas and wished he could have got to know her much better.
Anyone who knew Mark saw he had a super human physical strength. He used that strength during his battle with cancer, never wanting pity, just a cure. Mark fought to the end and a week before his death found the strength to rake leaves for his parents. We will miss him dearly and we feel his essence is now in the snowy fields of Scotland possibly wearing armor and jousting with others of his original, fascinating kind.
