Mother Mert attended and graduated from Hays High school in 1979. She later moved to Phoenix-Avondale, AZ where she raised her twochildren, Monique Taushae Fields, and Guy Chauncey Denman. Those who knew Mert, knew her to be a kind-- but edgy person, full of jokes,quick-whit, laughter, and endless love for those nearest to her.
Mert is survived by her grandchildren- Irisha Nevaeh Thomas, Zaneya Marshae Fields, Janiyah Azari Dyer-Denman, Jaqcuire Azarion Dyer-Denman, Jhakia Mitchell Denman. Her great-grandchildren, Zyeir Lyons and Aniyah Harding. Her brothers Norman Gene Sorrells and Nathan Lee Fields of Manchaca, Tx. Sisters Beverly Janet Wright of Manchaca, TX., Vinessa Myriel Fields and Tina Jo Fields of Austin TX., and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; her sister Loraine Anett Fields, and granddaughter Bobbi Monae Holeman.
She was loved and will be missed by many.
