

Marsha Lou Pockrus Marsha Lou Pockrus of Austin passed away on January 3, 2008 after a long and incredibly brave battle with cancer. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her. Born January 4, 1954, in Houston, Texas, she was the beloved daughter of Bill and Jean Pockrus. Living most of her life in Austin, Texas, Marsha also lived in Houston and Corpus Christi. For many years she touched many lives and made lifetime friends wherever she lived. Marsha currently served as the Director of Human Resources for ResCare in Austin and their operations throughout Central Texas. Marsha was well know for her keen wit, and wonderful sense of humor. Her accepting nature and her ability to share funny stories will be remembered by all, especially her nieces and nephews she loved dearly. Marsha enjoyed traveling especially, when it involved family trips to Vegas. Marsha was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her sisters, Brenda McClish of Austin, and Jane LaFrey and husband Tim LaFrey of Austin; brother, John Pockrus and wife Miriam Pockrus of Brooks, Georgia; aunt Whitmal Snyder of Kerrville, Texas; her nieces and nephews Chris McClish, Billy McClish, Laura Crawford, Lindsey Aylieff, Matthew Pockrus, Cody Pockrus and Riley Pockrus, along with many beloved cousins and friends. A memorial service celebrating Marshas life will be held on Sunday, January 6, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Wilke-Clay-Fish Chapel, 2620 S. Congress Ave., a reception will immediately follow the service. Interment will follow at 3:30 p.m. at South Park Cemetery in Pearland, Texas. The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to Dr. Michael Kasper, Dr. Carl Nuesch and the wonderful staff of Texas Oncology along with the incredible caring doctors and staff of Seton Medical Center.
