

Martha Joan Grant passed through the gates of heaven on Thursday, August 29, 2024. Born on September 8, 1932, to Solon and Elsie Mccown in Wimberley, TX. Martha lived a life full of love and dedication to her family and Jesus Christ.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Vernon Grant; her parents, Solon and Elsie McCown; her sisters, Mae Vickers, Rae Miller, and Blanche Miller; and her sons-in¬law, Bob Nolley and James Shull Sr.
Martha is survived by her daughters, Verlene Ann Nolley of Kerrville and Verna Frances Shull of Marble Falls, her son, Clifton Wayne Grant, and his wife Emilie of Leander. She leaves behind cherished grandchildren: James Shull Jr. (JJ), Stephanee Crawford (James), Adam Nolley (Maria), Daniel Nolley (Lauren), Isabella Grace Grant, and Greyson Grant. Her legacy continues with her great-grandchildren: Anthony Holland, Sarah Holland, Ella Crawford, James Shull Ill (Tooter), Hogan, Griffin, Kinsler, Hudson, and Baker Nolley, Lukas and Chloe Nolley, and one great-great-grandson, Oris James Holland.
Martha is also survived by her siblings: Lorene Mabry, Clara Shugart, and Sonny McCown.
Her memory will be forever cherished by her family and friends. She will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and the love she shared with everyone around her.
Pallbearers are James Shull Jr., Daniel Nolley, Sara Holland, Bella Grant, Anthony Holland, Adam Nolley and Greyson Grant. Honorary Pallbearers are John Fasel and Jimmy Miller.
The family wants to express their gratitude to Enhabit Hospice nurses Crystal, Cassie and Brenda; and to granddaughter, Sara Holland for their loving care and support during her final days.
A visitation for Martha will be held Monday, September 9, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home, 6300 West William Cannon Drive, Austin, TX 78749, followed by a graveside service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
