

Reba and James Helpenstill in Tomball, Texas. She grew up during the Great Depression and World War Two.
Martha graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Baytown, Texas in 1951. In 1967, she received her Certificate of Cytotechnology
and worked in Santa Fe New Mexico.
In 1968, she married Dr. Heinz Richard Landmann of Santa Fe. In 1981 she received a Bachelor of College Studies from the College
of Santa Fe. From 1997 to 2010, she lived in Grass Valley California to be close to her granddaughter, and in 2010 moved to Austin, Texas.
While living in Santa Fe she attended the Santa Fe Opera and had many friends. She traveled widely, riding on the Orient Express and visiting
Indian tribes in the Amazon Rain Forest.
She is survived by her son Donald Smith, and daughter-in-law Ying Hong of Austin, granddaughter Catherine Henderson and son-in-law Michael Henderson of Grass Valley California, stepson Robert Landmann, step daughter-in-law Susan Landmann of Nantucket Massachusetts, step grandson Simon Landmann of New York, New York, cousin Ethel Jean Moore of Conroe Texas, cousin Lisa McMillan of Corpus Christi Texas, and cousin Debbie Warren of Tyler, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Heinz Richard Landmann, her two daughters Anita Henderson and Katherine Smith, her Parents James and Reba Helpenstill, two sisters Carmen and Betty, Aunt Dorothy Weatherly, Uncle Bob Weatherly, and Cousin Ted Weatherly.
Much thanks to the caregivers and medical staff who helped during the last years of Martha’s life.
Graveside Service will be held, 10:00 A.M., May 16, 2015 at Cook- Walden/Forest Oak Memorial Park, 6300 W. William Cannon Drive, Austin, Texas 78749. 512-892-1172.
