Martha O. Vidaurri

Martha O. Vidaurri, 92, of Austin, passed away on Monday, August 19, 2013. She was born on August 8, 1921 in Austin, Texas to Ruben Cardenas Ortega and Debora Flores Ortega. She graduated from Austin High School and was a member of Trinity Abundant Life Church.

Martha was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years, Edelmiro T. Vidaurri; parents; brothers, Samuel, Daniel, Benjamin, and Abel Ortega; and sister, Debora Ortega Garcia.

She will be sadly missed by sons, Abel Ortega Vidaurri, David Ortega Vidaurri, Edward Ortega Vidaurri, Robert Ortega Vidaurri, and Major Stephen Ortega Vidaurri, USMC (Ret.); daughter, Anna Christina Vidaurri Burr; 20 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and 2 on the way; brothers, Ruben Ortega and Elieso Ortega; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives; and host of friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Friday, August 23, 2013 at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at 3:30 P.M., Saturday, August 24, 2013 in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home with Brother Sylvester Castillo and Brother David Campos officiating. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park.

Honoring Mrs. Vidaurri as pallbearers will be Calin E. Vidaurri, William (Bill) M. Burr, Andrew R. Burr, Eric C. Vidaurri, Travis A. Vidaurri and Ryan D. Vidaurri. Honorary Pallbearers will be Matthew Vidaurri, Mark Vidaurri and David James Vidaurri.
