
I just know came to see this notice about my most beloved and dear best friend/sister one could ever hope for!  I often thought of Martha and wonder how she was doing, what was she up to....last time we talked was 8 years ago, and yet; my memories of her have always been fresh in my mind.  So today, I decided to search for her and give her a surprise phone call.  My heart just broke when I saw what my search turned out.  It will be 3 years of her passing, and I am just now finding out!!!!!!!!!  How? Why? I will need to lean on God's shoulder to deal with this sad news (to me).  I know that many will be so touch when I share the news with them.....we worked together for so many years at the Vannie E. Cook Cancer Center.  She was attending college and working a full time job at the same time...she was the very best of the best!  So many memories between the two of us....she was the only one that could bring me peace while I was on labor of my first born, then the second one.  She knew what I needed and had no problems letting others know!  so so many life situations that I couldn't have survived without her.  My dear Martha Rae, you will always and forever ne in our hearts.  We love you to Heaven and back.



Our condolences goes out to the Walters family. We met Martha a couple times while riding to College Station and Rockport a couple years ago. Our memory is one of laughter and happiness. We will keep everyone involved in this tragic incident in our thoughts and prayers.

A phenomenal lady that I have had the privilege to work with and get to know personally.  She impacted many and will be missed by all.  My sympathy and prayers are extended to her family.  Take comfort in the memories you created together and know that she is looking down upon us all extending blessings.



I worked with Martha for six years while working at the corporate office at UHS and I feel very fortunate to have gotten to know her during that time.  She was always someone that was willing to go out of her way to help out a co-worker, no matter the issue, or what time of day.  

She was an invaluable team member, but more importantly she was a wonderful woman.  When she made her visits to the corporate office in King of Prussia, it was always a treat to spend time with her and get to know her in person.  These visits always seemed too short.  Iâ€™ll always remember her with a smile on her face and being full of energy.  She was a great person that you wanted to be around so you could listen to her talk about her stories and experiences.  

She will be missed dearly.  My thoughts and prayers go out to her family.  



I worked closly with Martha over the past five years and have come to regard her as one of my best friends. She was always willing to provide me assistance and guidance no matter what time of day or day of the week. I will cherish my friendship with her always and my prayers go out to Mark and Morgan, who she adored. I know because wshe told me so. She will be missed dearly.



I can not begin to express how grateful I am to have known Martha.  I have worked with her for many years.  There was one time that she came to UHS-Corporate where I work and showed an interest in seeing Washington, DC while she was in town.  I asked her if she had anyone to show her around, and we decided that my Husband, Martha, and I would spend the day on a Saturday sightseeing in Washington.  We all had a wonderful time.  It was that day in Washington that Martha was not only a co-worker, she became a close friend.  She was the type of person that could always make you laugh and she made being friends so easy.  She was a very loving and kind person, that I enjoyed sharing stories with each other.  After talking to her and hearing all the great stories about her loving daughter and her husband, as she adored both; I was very fortunate to meet both of them.  I have enjoyed getting to know the entire family.  My heart and deepest condolences go out to Mark and Morgan.  You have heavily been in my thoughts and prayers, since I heard the news.  

Martha was someone that had a tremendous amount of knowledge and did not mind sharing it with the people that she worked with to help them out.  It seemed like she knew everything and I told her that many times.  She was very modest and would just say she has been with the company for many years.  She was very highly regarded at UHS, and a person everyone could go to when they were stumped.  I wish I did not have to imagine what it will be like without Martha.

We used to always tease each other in a friendly way, because Martha was fun like that.  What I would give to hear her tease me again with our ongoing jokes.  She was an all around awesome lady!




Martha and I have been colleagues since she came to work for UHS.   And over the years, we developed a friendship that I will cherish forever.
She was a very hard worker and was available to answer all questions and help with any project.
She always spoke with love about her family.   She was a very devoted wife and mother.

I work at the UHS Corporate office in King of Prussia, PA.  I have know Martha for most of the time she was working for UHS.  I just spoke to her over the phone last week and was stunned when I heard the new yesterday.  My thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends who will be missing her as much as I will. I knew Martha for 9 years, mostly as a colleague, and felt so fortunate to have had that special relationship.  She always gave much more than you hoped, and seemed to do it, and do it brilliantly, when time and resources just weren't there.  But, somehow, she made it happen so many times, and made you feel special. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family, and I feel comfortable knowing all of us will keep her alive in our hearts and minds.



Martha was such a special friend to me, though we never met in person.  I developed a working relationship with her (long-distance) that developed into a very good friendship through our inter-action online late at night while we worked.  I knew when I was working on month-end close, at midnight, I could find my friend Martha online too.  Our 'chats' would start out business but would always turn into personal notes of catching up before we signed off at the end of our chats.  She was so dedicated to UHS and her wisdom and patience were endless!
Though I never had the priviledge of personally meeting Martha my heart broke when I heard this news and I know her family must be devastated.
All my thoughts and prayers are with Martha's family at this time.

Martha was a warm and dear friend for many years.  I shall miss her laughter and good humor more than I can express.  Martha was a kind and warmhearted person.  My heart breaks for Morgan and Mark.  Life will be so emply without Martha in this world!  c



I have had the pleasure to work with Martha over the phone for the past 20 years.  She was always the consumate professional.  Martha knew her job so well--you could always count on Martha to get the answer.  She was thorough and went the extra mile to make sure you understood her responses.  She was a very caring person. Dear Mark,
Please accept my deepest condolences on the recent tragedy and loss of Martha.  I am proud and privileged to have counted her as one of my friends.  I will never forget how excited she was when I decided to come to work in McAllen and how she went out of her way to make me feel at home since I was away from my own family.  

She was more than just a co-worker.  Iâ€™m sure family, friends and others will share their stories with you, and so I think it is important that I share mine.  While alone in McAllen I received news from home that my son was diagnosed with cancer.  At that moment, Martha became my family.  I needed someone to help me get through those first hours and she was there for me.  I will never forget that.  Iâ€™m not sure how I would have gotten through the worse tragedy that I ever experienced without her sincere concern and help.  Since I was new, I had no vacation time and I was obviously going to need time away from work to be with my son.  She organized an effort at the hospital for employees to contribute over 500 hours of their own vacation time to me.  These were people I didnâ€™t even know and I wouldnâ€™t have been able to afford to spend the time with my son if she hadnâ€™t coordinated the effort.  What do you say to someone that does something like that?  Thank you isnâ€™t enough.  Words canâ€™t express how grateful my wife and I are to Martha for that gift.

Martha and I viewed life very much the same.  Iâ€™m not sure if it was because we were both born on August 6th or just a product of how we were raised.  Although we were anal, perfectionist work-a-holics, we knew that nothing was more important than our families.  She was so excited when she learned she was pregnant and equally thrilled once Morgan was born.  As with most friends, once I moved away, our talks became less frequent.  However, each time we spoke, she would fill much of the conversation with stories of you and Morgan.  I could tell in her voice that she loved each of you dearly.

Martha was the kind of person you want and need in your life. I will miss her very deeply and I will think of her on every upcoming birthday I celebrate.  She was a very special person. My wife and I pray that the coming months and years will bring you and your family much healing.

I have worked from a distance with Martha over 10 years now.  She was as intelligent as she was witty.  She was always willing to help me with questions or problems I had.  She was dedicated to her job as well as her family.  She came to Enid a few years back.  It gave me the opportunity to get to know her even better.  She told us many stories about her daughter Morgan and humorous stories on herself.  You could tell how much she loved her daughter and husband by how she talked about them.  My favorite story she told me awhile back was about a trip to What-a-burger the day following one of her many late evenings working.  She said she dozed off for a second while waiting in the drive-thru and was "snapped out of it" by the voice behind the speaker asking her to pull forward.  I hope Mark and Morgan will be able to gain healing from the wonderful memories they must have of Martha.  She will be greatly missed.



Martha was a wonderful person.  I worked with her for 8 years closely on several projects.  She was great at what she did and always helpful, and was also a cheerful human being to be around.  She will be missed.



Martha was my colleague for more than 20 years.  She was very respected by her UHS family and will be sorely missed.  Martha and I worked in the same office when Morgan was just a little girl.  There were many occasions where Martha would work well in to the evening with Morgan camped out by her side.  She was a devoted mother and wife to Mark.  She lives on in the hearts she touched....she was loved by many.   Our thoughts and prayers are with Mark, Morgan and those left behind.

I had the pleasure of working with Martha directly and indirectly for more than 11 years.  It was clear that Martha was a devoted Wife and Mother, and my thoughts and prayers go out to her family.  

Martha was also very dedicated to her job and had a work ethic like no other.  It was clear she often took her work home and worked late into the evening and often into the early hours of the next day.  It was common to have an email from her at 1am or 2am in the morning.  I and many co-workers considered her our greatest resource and mentor in the company.  Whenever we were confronted with a work related financial question, the common response was, â€œLetâ€™s call Martha.â€  

Martha was brilliant and a true treasure; and we will all miss her very much.




I began working for UHS in 1985.  My memories of Martha are filled with energy and a positive approach to solving any problems I would call her about.  My sincere and  deep sympathy to Martha's family and friends.



I had the incredible privilege to know Martha as an extraordinary women, loving mom, great wife, and dedicated chapter officer .  A freind to everyone and a smile to ALL.     In my eyes ,  Martha "Lived Good and Loved Good". 

Morgan & Mark, your blessed to have the memories of such a kind, caring, witty soul, I pray that  those special moments will comfot & heal.

Although I only worked closely with Martha for about a year and a half, I grew to love her so much. She was so brilliant, so determined and so straight-forward, but as much as she was very business-like, she was equally very caring, super funny and laid back. She was a great teacher and a true leader.  She was and will always be the woman I aspire to be. I consider myself very lucky and blessed to have met her and to be able to call her a friend. 



I only knew Martha for a short time, but cherished our conversations of dieting and weird food combinations. From our conversations, I had come to know Martha as a determined person, joyful and an inspiration. I pray for her family and friends-for healing during this time. 



Daddy called us last night.  We are so sorry to hear about Martha.
