

Mary attended school in Austin (except for a time of sanitorium for diphtheria in Carlsbad, Texas), graduated from Austin High School in 1944, went to the University of Texas for a semester or two, and worked for the Texas Education Agency.
She met Earl R. Curry, also from Austin, a Seabee in the U.S. Navy, and they married June 25, 1946. He worked with DC Curry Roofing and Sheet Metal, until they opened Earl Curry Roofing and Sheet Metal in South Austin.
Mary and Earl had two sons, Colin Manley Curry, born April 10, 1952 and Edward Earl Curry, born November 20, 1957. She was the office manager at her husband's roofing business and took insurance claim calls. Mary was also the Church Secretary at Fairview Church of Christ for many years. She sang with the Austin Chapter of Sweet Adelines.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Annette Grein and Jessie McLean; and brothers-in-law, Owen Grein and Rolland McLean. Mary will be sadly missed by her sons, Colin M. Curry and wife Kathryn Lynn Shope Curry of Canyon Lake, Texas and Edward Earl Curry and wife LeeAnn Curry of Briarcliff, Texas; grandchildren, Tanya Dawn Swann and husband Steven of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Colin Baird Curry and wife Brenda of Canyon Lake, Texas, Krystal Lynn Teat and husband Stanley of New Braunfels, Texas, Katrina Louise Blackwell and husband Matthew of Chandler, Oklahoma, Kalyn LeAnne Zeimann of Canyon Lake, Texas, Katie Lanae Maguire and husband John L. of Keene, Texas, Kristiana Lael Curry of Austin, Texas, Kenzie Lauren Curry of Canyon Lake, Texas, Cadence McKenzie Curry of Canyon Lake, Texas, Courtland Jefferson Curry of Canyon Lake, Texas, and Micah Nerys Curry of Austin, Texas; thirteen great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Dick Curry and wife Doris of Wimberly, Texas; eight nieces and nephews; numerous other relatives; and a host of friends.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, November 12, 2017 in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home with Colin M. Curry, Minister officiating. Interment will follow Services at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park.
