Mary Lou Schroeder passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, October 10, 2006. All of us who love her rejoice that the veil of Alzheimers is finally lifted and she is conversing effortlessly with her friends and family in Heaven. Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Peggy St. John. She is survived by her husband, Edward Arnold Schroeder of Austin; son, Ron Schroeder and wife, Gloria of Austin; granddaughters, Annette Folmar and husband, Chris of Austin, Natalie Garrett and husband, Wayne of Austin; grandson, Mark Schroeder and wife, Samantha of Austin; brother, John Jackoskie and wife, Jan of San Diego, California; nephew, Darwin Graham and wife, Carol of Temple, Texas; seven great-grandchildren. With Arnold at her side, they traveled the US on motorcycle and in an Airstream, pausing a few decades in between. They raised their only son, Ron, in Waco, Texas and moved to Austin in 1968. Mary Lou and Arnold loved their Westlake Hills home and entertained friends and family in spectacular fashion. Always a gracious hostess who sparkled inside and out, her attention to detail was unsurpassed. There was nothing she couldnt do with a sewing machine and her Sunday lunches were legendary. Mary Lou worked in the banking industry until her retirement. The things she loved most included her grandchildren, afternoons on the beach, her beloved pets, and family gatherings. Mary Lous legacy of family togetherness and love unrestrained will last forever. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, October 12, at Wilke-Clay-Fish Chapel with The Reverend Kathleen Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Rosemound Cemetery in Waco, Texas.
