Mary Mendez Tijerina

Mary Mendez Tijerina, age 74 was called home on Monday June 6, 2022. Mary was born on July 2, 1947, in Yoakum Texas to a family of 13. Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, aunt, sister, and friend. Mary was a prayer warrior who showed the love of God to whomever she crossed paths with. Mary will be remembered by her faithfulness, bravery, and selflessness. She inspired everyone in a way that will be forever cherished.

Mary is Preceded by her Parents Jesus Mendez and Antonia Dominguez Mendez, her brothers, Johnny Mendez, and Manuel Mendez. Survived by her children Antonio Tijerina Jr. (Spouse-Kathy Tijerina), Rosalinda Tijerina and Jessie Tijerina Tobias (Spouse-Rick Tobias). Also survived by her 8 sisters and 3 brothers.

Mary has 18 Grandchildren, Tony Tijerina, April Tijerina, Paul Tello, James Tello, Faith Tijerina, Naomi Tijerina, Julianna Tijerina, Toni Marie Pantoja, Louis Pantoja, Elias Tijerina, Ruben Trujillo, Salvador Hernandez, John Hernandez, Angelica Hernandez, Jessica Shedd, Isaac Tovar, Camilla Rodriguez, Ruben Rodriguez Jr., and lots of great grandchildren, with extended family and friends. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A celebration of life for Mary will occur Thursday June 16,2022 from 5pm-9pm at Weed-Corley-Fish South Chapel,2620 South Congress Ave. Austin, TX 78704. Friday June 17, 2022, there will be a service held at Weed-Corley-Fish South Chapel, 2620 South Congress Ave. Austin, TX 78704, starting at 10am with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery 3304 E. 12th Street Austin, TX 78721.
