Mary S. Witt

She grew in and around Three Rivers and graduated from Three Rivers High. She was introduced to Clarence (Sonny) Witt on a blind set up by two of her brothers. Love grew and they got married on December 18, 1949.

Mary Nell worked the Texas Highway Department and retired from there after 25 years. She was a member of Crestview Baptist Church, and enjoyed attending her Sunday School Class. She had a very close friend named Gilbert Cantwell.

She was preceded in death by her parents John Elmer Smith and Lila Stroud Smith, husband Clarence Wilbur Witt, one brother Marvin Smith and one brother-n-law, Norman Ward.

She is survived by three brothers Johnny and his wife Jean Smith, James and his wife Marilyn Smith, Homer and his wife Joyce Smith; three sisters Geraldine and her husband Duval Reynolds, Janie Ward, and Onita and her husband Sonny Watson and one sister-n-law Nellie Smith.

She is also survived by two children, Gene and his wife Becky Witt, Linda and her husband Randy Hall; two grandchildren, John Hall, Michael and his wife Jessica Witt; two great grandchildren, Jett Hall and Gavin Witt plus many nieces, nephews and friends.

A funeral service will be conducted at eleven o’clock in the morning on Tuesday, the 11th of December 2012, in the Colonial Chapel of Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas. Interment will follow in Live Oak Cemetery, Austin, Texas.
