Maryln was born on October 31, 1946 to Arthur “Art” & Doris Le Croix (Jennings) in Boulder, Colorado. Being born with Spina Bifida, she spent her first 7 years in and out of the Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in Dallas, TX. She would continue to speak highly of the staff who cared for her, and the kindness and compassion that she was shown when there for treatment throughout her days as it made a lifelong lasting impression on her.
In 1953, the family would settle in the Austin area, where Maryln would eventually meet and marry the love of her life, George Douglas (Doug) Ross. Her proudest moment would come upon the addition of their son, Joseph (Jody) Douglas Ross, to their family, making them a trio.
Maryln worked for the IRS in the HR Department, compassionately caring for her co-workers and guiding them through processes for their retirement to make it as easy as possible for them. She took great pride in her work and being able to help those around her.
Maryln was not only a loving wife and mother, but an incredibly patient person as well. She was known to sit on the dock for hours, awaiting the bite of the ever elusive perch, enjoying the peaceful moments she found on the water. She also enjoyed hunting, mostly just to watch the animals, but the times she spent with family dove hunting at her aunt’s home were special to her. Counted cross stitch and collecting Teddy Bears, dachshunds and owls rounded out her hobbies.
Maryln was loved by and loved many, and will be greatly missed by those that knew and loved her. She’s survived by her devoted husband Doug, and son Jody. Brother Robert William Le Croix (Christie) of Kyle, Texas, and sisters Janice Rizzo of Austin, TX, and LeaAnne Le Croix (Sonqua) of LaVernia, Texas.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital of Dallas, TX or the American Cancer Society as both of these amazing organizations held significance in Maryln’s life.
A memorial service for Maryln will be held Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 6300 West William Cannon Drive, Austin, TX 78749.
