

Maxine Studebaker Donovan of Austin passed away peacefully on July 1, 2007. She was a devoted member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church and an avid swimmer at Barton Springs, where she was awarded lifetime free swimming on her 80th birthday. Her optimistic spirit was an inspiration to all her family and friends, and she will be greatly missed. Maxine was born on November 22, 1919, in Nowata, Oklahoma, to Ira and Irene Studebaker. She spent her youth in Missouri and moved to Austin in 1943. She married John B. Donovan, D. O. on May 3, 1971, and he preceded her in death in 1986. Maxine is survived by her step-son, John C. Donovan and wife Anne; grandsons and their wives, John P. Donovan and Jacy, Peter L. Donovan and Abigail, and grandson, Michael H. Donovan; and great-grandchildren Harrison, Hudson, Clara, and Helena Donovan. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Shannon and Wilda Bee Studebaker of Springfield, Missouri; nieces and their husbands, Jean and John Mooneyham and Sharron and David Smith, and two great-nephews and a great-niece. Rosary will be at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home at 5:30 p.m. Monday, July 2nd. Mass will be said at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 3rd at Assumption Mausoleum Chapel followed by entombment in Assumption Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, Maxine requested that contributions be made to St. Ignatius Catholic School, 126 W. Oltorf, 78704, to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 3701 Executive Ctr.
