

Melba Jean Howry Gamble, 78, passed away Monday, December 5th, 2011 in Austin, Texas. She was born in Burleson County on December 26, 1932 to Myrtle and Rufus Howry. She graduated from Caldwell High School in 1950 and in the summer following graduation she met and married Rollie W. Gamble.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rollie W. Gamble, infant son, parents Myrtle May Covington and Rufus Howry, stepfather, Joe Covington, brother, Billy Dan Howry, brother, Leonard Ray Howry, and sister, Margie Christie.
She is survived by her daughter, Vicki Shoenfelt and husband, Henry, her son, Larry Gamble and wife, Jeri, daughter, Lisa Trueper and husband, David, grandson, Adam Shoenfelt and wife, Kelly, grandson Brian Gamble and wife, Kara, granddaughter, Sarah Morrow and husband, David, grandson, Justin Gamble, granddaughter, Trisha Campbell and husband, Doug, granddaughter, Kalie Trueper, granddaughter, Lily Trueper, great-granddaughters, Emma Morrow, Aiden Gamble, Zoe Gamble and great-grandsons, Drew Shoenfelt and Cody Morrow.
She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a charter member of Northwest Baptist Church in Austin, Texas where she worked in the nursery for many years. She was also a member of the Joy Club.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from six o’clock until eight o’clock in the evening, on Wednesday, the 7th of December 2011, at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas.
Funeral services will be conducted at ten o’clock in the morning on Thursday, the 8th of December 2011, at Northwest Baptist Church, 6301 Woodrow Avenue. Austin, Texas. Interment to be follow in Cook-Walden Capitol Parks, Pflugerville, Texas.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Adam Shoenfelt, Brian Gamble, Justin Gamble, Doug Campbell, Seth Brown nephews Charles Werchan and Randy Howry. Honorary pallbearer is Rodney Giesenschlag.
In lieu of flowers and the customary remembrances, memorials may be sent to Northwest Baptist Church, 6301 Woodrow Avenue, Austin, Texas, 78757.
