Micaela O. Lopez

Micaela O. Lopez passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family. Our Heavenly Father lifted her tired body to the heavens above on August 25, 2021. Micaela was born on September 29, 1931 to her parents, Miguel and Sotera Ortiz.

Micaela retired from IBM. Most of her lifetime was spent as a housewife and caring for her family.

Her favorite pastime was sewing. She made quilts, small purses and numerous times altered clothing with her own personal embellishments.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gustavo Lopez. She is survived by her four children, Micaela (Cliff), Gustavo Jr., Evangelina, and Cynthia Ann.

Also known as Mawmaw, she was loved by her 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren.

The Lopez family would like to extend special thanks to Kayla, Mom’s Hospice Nurse, for her kindness and care.

A visitation for Micaela will be held Tuesday, August 31, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas 78752. A graveside service will occur Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Assumption Cemetery, 3650 S Interstate 35 Frontage Rd, Austin, Texas 78704.
