Michael Jay Harrelson

Michael was born to Ray and Peggy Harrelson on September, 21, 1953 in Brownfield, Texas. There he attended First United Methodist Church, was a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Future Farmers of America and lettered in Football, Baseball, Basketball, and Track. He graduated from Brownfield High School in 1973. Michael was a plumber with Local 629 for over 30 years. He moved to the Austin area after retiring. He was a sports enthusiast that loved to bowl, fish, and golf. He enjoyed traveling and was an avid fan of the University of Texas Longhorns.

He is survived by daughter Amy Harrelson, granddaughter Kathryn Erwin, and grandson Patrick McGuire, of Austin; mother Peggy Harrelson, and brother Steve Harrelson of Farmington, Arkansas; brother Rick Harrelson of Rogers, Arkansas; sister Rita Weeks and husband Bob of Austin; brother Danny Harrelson of Lubbock; brother Ronnie Harrelson and wife Brenda of Graham; Uncle Robert Patrick of Arkansas; and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Michael was preceded in death by his father Ray Harrelson and sister-in-law Kay Harrelson.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:00am on Friday, May 6, 2016 at Covenant United Methodist Church, 4410 Duval Rd. Austin, TX 78727. Interment will follow in Austin Memorial Park, Austin, Texas.
