He leaves behind a big legacy — one full of loud laughs, strong opinions, and a lot of love. He was the kind of person you don’t forget, and I know his presence will always be a part of this family.

We’ll miss him — his jokes, his stories, his debates, even his arguments — because they were all pieces of who he was. And honestly, the world feels a little quieter without him.

We love you, Grandpa. Thank you for being exactly who you were — unapologetically yourself, through and through.

I know you’re up there in Heaven now, probably already stirring things up, challenging the angels’ paradigms, and keeping everyone on their toes. Rest easy, Grandpa — your work here is done, but your spirit will stay with us always.

I might not make it all the way through this without crying — and that’s okay, because Grandpa would probably tell me to “suck it up,” and then hand me a tissue anyway.

Thank you all for being here today to celebrate my grandfather’s life.

If you knew Grandpa, you knew he wasn’t the quiet type. He didn’t hold back — he said what he thought, whether you agreed with him or not, and usually loud enough for everyone in the room to hear. That was just him — bold, opinionated, sometimes stubborn, but always real. You never had to guess where you stood with him, and honestly, that’s something I’ve always respected.

Beneath that tough, outspoken side was someone who loved hard. He might have shown it in his own way — sometimes through advice you didn’t ask for, or a story you’d already heard ten times — but it always came from a place of love. Family mattered to him. We all mattered to him.

He also loved to challenge us — to make us think differently, to question things, and to look at life from new angles. I can still hear him talking about paradigms and how we needed to shift them. That was Grandpa — always pushing you to think a little deeper, even if you weren’t in the mood for a lecture at the time.

And one of the things that made him happiest was singing karaoke. Grandpa loved grabbing that microphone and singing his heart out, no matter who was watching. He encouraged everyone to join in — even me, and especially my daughter, who’s usually a little shy. He had this way of making you feel like you belonged up there, even if you couldn’t carry a tune. That kind of confidence — that joy — was contagious.

I’ve thought a lot lately about Mom and Mark, and everything they did for him — the care, the patience, the long days and nights making sure he was comfortable. I know that wasn’t easy, but it showed exactly what family is supposed to look like. I know Grandpa appreciated it, even if he didn’t always say it.

It’s hard to put into words the sadness we feel with Grandpa’s passing, but even more than that, our hearts ache for Debra Morris Lewis and Mark Lewis . The love, care, and strength you both showed in his final days were nothing short of beautiful. You gave him comfort, dignity, and peace — surrounded by family and love until the very end.

From all of us — me, Shiela, Chase, Emma, Savanah, and Presley, and from Jennifer, Pay, Heath, and Ray — we want you to know how deeply we admire and appreciate everything you did. Your hearts carried him through, and we’ll never forget the compassion you showed.

Grandpa was blessed to have you both, and we’re all so thankful for the love you gave him. We love you and are holding you close in our hearts.

Grandpa, my heart is heavy knowing you’ve passed on. You were so much more than a grandparent to me—you were a source of wisdom, strength, and love that shaped who I am today.

I’ll never forget your stories, your laughter, and the quiet way you always made me feel cared for. You had such a gift for challenging how I thought and how I handled situations, and I’m forever grateful for the perspective and resilience you gave me.

I will always cherish the memories we shared, the lessons you taught me, and the unconditional love you showed. Though I feel such an immeasurable loss, I find comfort knowing your legacy lives on in all of us.

Rest peacefully, Grandpa. You will always be missed, and forever remembered with love. ❤️

I am so very sorry to learn of the passing of Mr Morris.  A true gentleman that always had a smile on his face and a laugh to share. I am wishing the entire family peace and comfort, and lifting each one of you up in prayer. As the Bible tells us, to be absent from the body is to be in the presence of the Lord. Mr Morris is home.
