
Mildred Elizabeth Taylor McCollum Mildred E. McCollum, 96, of Clarksville, Arkansas, passed away, Friday, April 7, 2006, at Johnson Regional Medical Center. She was born April 13, 1909, in Anderson, Texas. She was a former Home Economics Teacher, Homemaker, and a Baptist Pastors wife for over 60 years. She was a wonderful loving and caring mother, and her presence and influence will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Ray McCollum and an infant son, David McCollum. Also preceding her in death were her parents, Claude and Clara Taylor, one sister Edith Balcom, and three brothers, Claude, Emory, and William Taylor. She is survived by her daughters Margaret Griggs and her husband Max of Clarksville, Arkansas, and Dixie Smetana of Newburyport, Massachusetts. Her other survivors include: granddaughter Traci Stanley and husband Jeff, grandson Timothy Collins and wife Colleen, great grandchildren; Talon and Brock Stanley, Madison and Jillian Collins. She is also survived by two sisters, Jean Kuempel and Marion Dillon, both of San Antonio, Texas. Her nieces and nephews are Donna Lane, Teresa Kuempel, Marcet Balcom, Mike Balcom, Claude Kuempel, and Chey Coker, and several great nieces and great nephews. Graveside service and burial will be in Austin Memorial Park in Austin, Texas on Thursday, April 13, 2006 under the direction of Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home. The service will be officiated by Dr. George Musacchio of Belton, Texas.
