

On December 30, 2014, eight years to the day that he moved to Austin, Texas, Mitchell Kalogridis passed to be with his parents. He was born on November 11, 1926 to George Kalogridis (Papu), and Evangelia (YiaYia); his brothers–Gus, Tony (Judy), and Pete; his nephew Gunter Kalogridis, and his dear daughter-Helen Kalogridis Baucom.
Mitchell lived in Winter Haven for most of his life and attended Winter Haven High School. After serving during WWII, Mitchell worked in his family’s business in downtown Winter Haven, and later entered the real estate business, where he enjoyed a 40+ year career.
Mitchell attended St. Paul’s Episcopal Church for most of his life, where he served as an alter boy with his brothers when he was young. He achieved to be a thirty-third degree freemason a fraternity that encourages personal and individual character development and application of moral and virtuous lessons and behavior into ones daily life.
For the last eight years, he lived next to his son, Mitchell, in Austin, Texas, where he continued to enjoy looking at real estate, visiting the ranch and livestock. Mitchell was also an avid painter. His remaining years were full of peace and love. He enjoyed living close to his sons, and spent considerable time with his children, grandchildren, caregivers and their families.
He is survived by his former wife, JoAnn, sons George and Mitchell (Jan), and daughters Mary Kalogridis Eubanks (Bob), and Evangelia Kalogridis Emelio (Richard). He is also survived by grandchildren – Lore, Dae, JoAnn, Nichole, Jakki, and Angie. His great-grandchildren, Julian, Mitchell and Marin Walter. And many nieces and nephews.
A memorial will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in the spring when the orange blossoms bloom.
