March 25, 1969 – April 13, 2016
Monica let go of her earthly form and passed out of this world on Wednesday, April 13, 2016, in Austin, Texas, after a courageous battle with a serious illness. She was born in Wilmington, Delaware on March 25, 1969, while her parents were in graduate school. She grew up in Texas and the East Coast and worked extensively in New York City in the fashion and fragrance industries. She attended Austin High School, Austin Community College, and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York City. She received a distinguished scholarship from the J.C. Penny Foundation, and upon graduation was immediately hired by a prestigious fragrance firm based in New York, Paris, and Milan. Monica continued to work for a decade in the fragrance industry in New York, New Jersey, France, Italy, Colorado, and Texas.
Monica had a large, unorthodox, and adoring family. She is survived by her husband, Christopher Haskett; step-son, Holden Haskett; her mother, Patricia Faucheaux; father, Deepesh Faucheux; brother, Brett Sagar Faucheaux; sister, Natasha Hansen; and others including Elizabeth Dillingham, Charlotte Hansen, Audrey Faucheaux, Linda Faucheux, Jon Monson, Frank Davis, and her beloved dog, Mattie.
Monica had an exquisitely refined sense of style, fashion, and attention to detail in everything she did. She was absolutely adored by everyone who knew her and could make anybody laugh. Her smile lit the room. Her favorite movie was The Big Lebowski. She was a loving wife, step-mother, daughter, granddaughter, sister, and friend. Even in her darkest times, she reached out in kindness to those she loved. She will be missed by everyone who knew her.
Funeral Services will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, April 23, 2016, at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home.
All who loved her are welcome.
