

Arlean Black Towns, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend entered into eternal life on Tuesday, January 8, 2013. Arlean was born on February 1, 1944 to Hence and Alma Black in Taylor Texas. Both parents preceded her in death. She professed a hope in Christ at an early age and was baptized by the Rev. B.T. Page at the Swenson Grove Baptist Church in Rice's Crossings, Texas. She attended public schools in Taylor, Texas and received her high school diploma from O. L. Price High School, she attended Huston Tillotson College in Austin, Texas and while in college she met Clyde M. Towns, Sr. and they were married November 22, 1964. Arlene continued to pursue her education and receive an Associate degree in nursing from Wor-Wic Community College, in Salisbury, Maryland. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN) while employed loyally for over 20 years at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford, MD. She started at Nanticoke Memorial as a LPN and later as a RN. To the union of marriage Arlean and Clyde have two sons: Kenneth and Clyde Jr. Towns. Being a military family they were relocated to different areas in United States and to England. After military life, the family settled in Delmar, Maryland. Arlean enjoyed spending time with her family and first great granddaughter. She was very passionate about cooking, baking, shopping, collecting elegant hats and jewelry. On January 8, 2013 Arlean Black Towns' journey on this earth came to an end and she went on to begin her new life with her Heavenly Father. Her legacy of love and devotion to her family and friends will be forever cherished by husband, Clyde M. Towns, Sr. for 48 years.; sons, Kenneth and Clyde M. Jr.Towns; granddaughters, Devony and Shae Towns, and Tyneisha Gattis; grandsons, Zachary and Trey Towns, Kevin and Kavon Trader; great granddaughter, Ahliya Gillespie all of Delmar, MD; sisters, Florene Brown; brothers, Hence and Herman Black all of Austin, TX and a host of nieces and nephew, cousins, family and friends. Brother, Willie Black; sisters, Dorothy Brown and Lenora Carter preceded Arlean in death.
