Nancy Foy Archer, age 57, departed this world on Saturday, April 17, 2004 surrounded by her family and friends. Nancy was born on November 28, 1946 in Columbus, Ohio to Egan and Kay Foy. She was mother, grandmother, sister, friend, genealogist, and all around special person. Researching the Foy-Hunt genealogy and documenting the family history ignited a passion for restoring historic homes. Nancy had recently moved to Palestine from Dallas to make her passion a reality. She successfully restored her 100-year old Magnolia St. home and had begun restoring a second historic home on Magnolia St. Not only was Nancy successful in restoring homes; she was also successful in providing a warm home for her family. Using the foundation laid by her parents, Nancy built walls and a roof to shelter her daughters and added doors and windows to provide opportunities. She cherished the basics of life: gardening, spending time with her dog, Annie Bell, helping to preserve historic landmarks, and spending time with her family and friends. She left a lasting impression on all who crossed her path. She is survived by her daughters, Stephanie Archer of Austin and Shannon Archer Kinnunen of Richland, Washington; granddaughter, Emma Ruth Kinnunen; sister, Sally Friedmann; niece, Kimberly Friedmann; sons-in-law, George Rislov and Eric Kinnunen; and best friend, Marianne Munson. Interment of her ashes will be this Thursday, April 22, 2004 at 1:00 p.m., at Oakland Cemetery, located at 3900 Oakland Cr., (Malcolm X Avenue) Dallas, Texas 75215.
