Born March 5th 1928 in Howard, South Dakota, to Mary Browning Wines and Judge Irving Macaulay Mumford, she attended high school and college in Minn., Ariz., and S.D. earning a Bachelor of Science degree. Nancy said she had a mind like a steel trap and this was true. She was intelligent, opinionated, and very loyal to her friends. She loved her family the animals as well as the humans. Her uniqueness inspired a column by John Kelso in the Austin American Statesman. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Elizabeth, and her husband Pat. She is mourned by her sisters Jane and Mary, and their families; her children Dan, Liz and Mary and their spouses; her grandchildren Iris, Bonnie, Michael, Kris and Sean; and many friends. The family is very grateful to her neighbors, friends and caregivers; especially Dee, Helen, Hope, Laverne, Marcia, Sheree, Tina, and their families. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 20th at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home. Services will be held on Saturday, August 21st at 3:00 p.m., at the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection, 2200 Justin Lane, followed by a reception in the parish hall.
