Nettie Kuhnert Johnson

Minetta "Nettie" Mary Anna Kuhnert Johnson was born in Tynan, Texas on September 21, 1920 to Magdelena and Paul Kuhnert. She went to be with our Lord peacefully on November 17, 2008. Nettie was preceded in death in 2003 by her beloved husband of 56 years, Ralph Arnold Johnson. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Alfred, Arno and Paul and one sister, Louise Morgan. Nettie is survived by her daughter, Sharon Matesic and son-in-law, Joey Matesic of Buda. She is also survived by granddaughters, Shari Sears and husband, Tyler of Wimberley and Shawn Matesic of San Marcos and one great-granddaughter, Alexa Sears of Wimberley. Nettie is also survived by step-daughter, Jan Archer and husband Roger of Lewisville and granddaughter Cory Flowers of Dallas and three great-granddaughters. She is also survived by one sister-in-law, Doris Kuhnert of Beeville. Nettie grew up in Beeville, Texas and met and married the love of her life on May 31, 1947. They moved to Baytown, Texas in 1952 where Nettie was a beautician for over 40 years. Nettie was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Baytown. Nettie and Ralph moved to Buda, Texas in 2000 to be near family. Known for her beautiful smile and sweet disposition and gentleness, Nettie was loved by all. She moved into Regency Village Care Center in Austin, Texas in 2003 and was cared for with love by the staff. Nettie was blessed with two very special "angels" caregivers, Gloria Guajardo and Roxy Salazar. The family wishes to thank these two ladies and the staff of Regency Village for the wonderful care and love given to Nettie over the years. The family also wishes to thank Odyssey Hospice for their kindness and support to the family and the love and tenderness shown to Nettie. Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at Wilke-Clay-Fish Funeral Home. Graveside Service will be at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at Live Oak Cemetery.
