Oliver Martin Schmelzle

From an early age in Germany, Mr. Schmelzle developed a lifelong interest in technology and engineering. He received both a BA and his Master's Degree in Computer Science from the University of Hamburg before moving to the United States. Mr. Schmelzle was currently employed by the Vast Corporation as the Vice President of Product Strategy. Prior to that, he was the Vice President of Product Management at Adometry.

He was devoted to his wife, Lacey, and son Ryder. He was an avid runner and a gifted photographer. Oliver was seldom without a camera and enjoyed documenting events, friends and family.

Oliver was born on August 5, 1973 in Braunschweig, Germany, the son of Dr. Martin Schmelzle and Dagmar Ziegermann Schmelzle. He is survived by his father, Martin and a sister, Corinna Schmelzle Beis, both of Germany. He was preceded in death by his mother. His passing is also mourned by father-in-law John Ashley, mother-in-law Bobby Ashley, sister-in-law Amy Ashley Withers, brothers-in-law Dan Withers and Christian Beis, four nieces - Ashley Withers, Haley Withers, Anna Beis and Sarah Beis, and his many close friends and co-workers.

Visitation will be at 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 21 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 3125 N. Lamar Blvd. in Austin. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 22 at Tarrytown United Methodist Church, 2601 Exposition Boulevard.
