Jean’s greatest passion in life was her family for whom she was a loving care-giver. She was always patient and kind, and by her example she taught her children to tend to the job at hand, accept no limitations, and do the best they can.
She roller-skated with her grandchildren and rode motorcycles with her husband and friends. Throughout her life, Jean remained young at heart and embraced her trials and tribulations with a positive attitude and a beautiful smile. Those whom she graced with her laughter will remember that she always walked on sunshine and never, ever gave up.
Jean is survived by her children and their spouses: Connie and Keith Koehler, Robbie and Glenn Carlyle, Vicki and Craig Holmes, Tami and Jimmy Martin, and Robert Michael Ball; and her step children Lisa and Wayne Widman. She is also survived by her brothers and their families: Bo Stinnett, Johnny Farmer, Jeff “Butch” Farmer, Howard-Wayne, and Bobby Stinnett.
Also surviving Jean are her grandchildren: Ty Schmitt and wife Linda, Kelly Koehler, Jason Carlyle and wife Rebecca, David Carlyle, Kye Martin, Carly Martin, Sam Holmes, and Robert, Jaimie, and Justin Widman and their families. She is also survived by her great grandchildren: Maddy, Skylar, and Ella Schmitt, and Ashton, Bryce, Adeline and Amelie Carlyle.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Jewel and Bronk Farmer, and Wayne and Erma-Dean Stinnett, and her brother Charles “Sam” Stinnett; along with her husband James Odell Burdick, her stepsons Bobby-Dell and Bart Burdick, and her great grandchildren Lillian and Winston Carlyle.
A memorial service for Jean will be held in the spring of 2012, details of which will become available at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Lighthouse at Altenheim Hospice, whose staff demonstrated a level of caring and professionalism to Jean in her final hours that can only be measured by the heartfelt gratitude of her family. The Lighthouse at Altenheim Hospice address is 100 N. College, Round Rock, TX 78664.
