Pamela Presley, native of Abilene, Texas, and resident of Katy, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2019, surrounded at home by her loving family. She was 72.
Pam was born January 11, 1947, the first daughter of Dixie Ruth and Walton McCollum (Bo) Presley. Pam graduated in 1965 from Abilene Cooper and split her college experience between Christian College in Columbia, Missouri, and the University of Texas in Austin, from which she graduated in 1969 with a degree in Early Childhood Development.
Pam spent the majority of her adult life in Austin, where she was active in her Church, as a teacher for a time, and in fellowships with friends. Pam was particularly passionate about the beauty and expression of needlepoint – a creative and prolific endeavor she shared for many years with a small circle of like-minded artists. Her handwork will forever be a pleasant reminder of her bountiful imagination.
Pam loved her family and loved her friends. She was a gracious lady, admired for her beauty and style, and ever so generous with her kindness. Her nurturing heart had her arms always encircling the shoulders of the daughters she reared, the granddaughters she adored, the nieces and nephews she helped guide and encourage, and all the lucky children she taught.
Pam was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her daughters Stacey Palinski and her husband Eric; Lauren Quarles, husband Brady, and children Presley, Riley Anne, and Emma; sisters Cindy Straughan and husband George of Austin, and Dixie Ann Wilson and husband Randy of Dallas; and a very grateful group of nieces and nephews – Kelly and Heath Driver and family of Austin, Mark and Liz Wilson and family of Austin, Beth and Marshall Smith and family of Dallas, and Brooke and Dan Held and family of Hurst.
Services will be held at All Saint’s Presbyterian Church, 7808 Rialto Boulevard in Austin, on Monday, May 6th at 2:00 pm with visitation to follow at the home of Cindy and George Straughan, 1013 Gaston Avenue in Austin.
In lieu of flowers, donations to The Multiple System Atrophy Coalition would be so appreciated by Pam’s family.
