Patricia “Trish” Ann Dorfman of Austin, Texas passed away on Saturday, December 6 at the age of 74. She was born on October 3, 1951 in Knoxville, Tennessee. Her father worked for the Army Corp of Engineers and so they lived in several different places over the years. Her formative years were spent in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
She graduated from the University of Tulsa in 1973 with a Bachelor's degree in Education.
She worked as a teacher, first in Arizona (where she met her husband), and then later at several schools in the Austin area, retiring in 2013.
After their two children were grown, she and her husband enjoyed the Austin music scene for quite a few years. They made many friends in the Austin music community.
She is preceded in death by her brother, Stephen Maples, and her parents, John and Florence Maples.
She is survived by her husband, Barry Dorfman, son David, daughter Sabrina, and grandson Logan.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at Cook-Walden Chapel of the Hills on Tuesday, December 16th, at 3:00pm. Viewing and visitation will begin at 1:00pm. A celebration of Trish’s life (wake) will follow at Juliet’s Italian Restaurant in the Arboretum.
