Paul Rene LaLonde

Paul René LaLonde was born in Witchita Falls, Texas on September 24, 1943 to Carolyn and Dr. Albert LaLonde. Paul died August 4, 2008 at his home after a brief illness. Paul made the Austin/Buda area his home after the family moved here in 1950. Paul loved life, innocence, and children. Although he had no children of his own, he was a wonderful uncle to his nieces and nephews. Paul loved to read books about a multitude of subjects and he studied throughout his entire life on his favorite subject of Buddhism. Paul was a gentle spirit who loved to teach his passions to others. He loved cards, poker, and chess and his competitive spirit allowed but a very few to beat him at that game. Paul was preceded in death by his brother, Michael; niece, Courtney; and step-mother, Joyce LaLonde. He is survived by his father, Dr. Albert LaLonde; his mother, Carolyn Weatherton; brother, Albert LaLonde Jr. and wife Toni and children, Albie and Lindsay; sister, Diane Al-Yafi and husband Adnan, and children, Nessim, Alia, Laila and Badie; brother, David LaLonde and sister, Lisa Hamaker and husband Will and children, Powell, Reese and Lane; niece, Micah Vasicek and husband Rodney and children Katie, Jenny, and Grace. Paul touched the lives of many people and his wonderful contagious laugh will be greatly missed. Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, August 22nd at Wilke-Clay-Fish Funeral Home.
