Pauline McLaurin Mallett, age 96, died June 2, 2014, near Austin, Texas. "Polly" was born during a snowstorm in Mount Olive, Mississippi, on January 6, 1918. She married Jack Sherrard Mallett of Austin and moved to Texas. She was a lifelong homemaker, and also worked for the Internal Revenue Service. Polly was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her three sisters. She is survived by her children and their spouses: Mark Albert Mallett (Jody), Paul Douglas Mallett (Renee), and Joanne Mallett (Judy Hashem); seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 6, 2014 from 10am-12 noon at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 3125 N. Lamar Blvd., Austin, TX. Graveside services will be celebrated 2 pm Friday at Austin Memorial Park.
Polly always strived to be that virtuous woman described in Proverbs 31, and she did good and not evil all the days of her life.
