The family arrived in Austin, TX in 1950 when Peggy’s father became Personnel Manager for E. M. Scarbrough and Sons in downtown Austin. Peggy was a member of the 1962 Class at Austin High School where she was a member of the AHS choir. Peggy always maintained a love of music and dance.
With a distinctive laugh that would ring out, one could not help but conclude that Peggy was infused with a love of life. She commanded a room with an unyielding welcoming and hospitable presence. Her sense of humor and her social magnetism were infectious. She was a natural ‘people person’ and she leveraged this enviable characteristic as a model employee for 16 years as a flight attendant for Braniff International. She criss-crossed the skies making customers and co-workers feel seen and cared for.
In 1981, she then turned her zeal and service-oriented drive towards a formidable career ultimately as an Executive Senior Sales Director for Mary Kay Cosmetics. This role provided her myriad ways selflessly to serve both customers and fellow sales people alike. She mentored so many sales consultants that it goes without saying that she helped countless people set several performance bars quite high while at Mary Kay.
Her success was impressive and delivered a great deal of pride to Peggy and her family; however, the true measure of her character was in how deeply she loved and was loved.
She was preceded in death by both of her parents and her brother, Roby Brewer. She is survived by her sister Patty Johnson (Don), her niece Julie Orchid, her nephew Michael Johnson (Elizabeth), her great nieces Georgia Kay and Emme Orchid, and her great nephew Gabriel Johnson.
A Celebration of Life for Peggy will be held at 11:00 AM on April 22nd, 2024, at Weed Corley Fish Funeral Home, 5416 Parkcrest Dr. Austin, Texas 78731. For those unable to attend, the service will be livestreamed on https://client.tribucast.com/tcid/9441232227
