Gone to be with the Lord on June 15, 2020
Here comes Peggy Lynn Wolf, who was born March 28, 1951 – to her parents William Monroe Wolf and Dorothy Rawls Wolf, from Austin and Lampasas, Texas. She was the fourth and last child born in her family. Her oldest sister, Connie Wolf Turner, passed away in January this year. Peggy is survived by her brother, William Rawls Wolf, and her sister, Sally Wolf Grinnell – as well as many nieces and nephews.
Peggy was a sweet soul that was born with physical and mental challenges that plagued her, her entire life. The pictures and memories we have of her when she was a young child – show a face of pure innocence and love. In Matthew 5:8, Jesus’s Sermon on the Mount – Jesus said “Blessed are the pure of heart for they will see God”. In the same way that Jesus assures us that the children that are taken away from us, before they have a chance to mature in life - that through Jesus, go directly to the Father. We know that Peggy also, has a special place in Heaven. Even though she never really had a chance to live her life to the fullest. As her family, this makes us very sad for the things she didn’t have a chance to experience, and for the suffering she had to endure throughout her life. Yet in Romans 8:18 it says “Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory He will give us later”. That is our hope, that is our anchor – eternal life. In the book of John it talks about eternal Life. When you heal physically, like Lazarus was, you are healed for a time (Lazarus eventually died in his physical life) – But when you are healed spiritually, you have everlasting life in the company of Jesus. Forever.
Steve had an opportunity to pray with Peggy at the ranch several years ago, and to tell her about the plan of salvation. She was clear headed at the time. Steve said that she remarked, pointing to Steve “You know”, and “I know”, “We know”. This was something that Peggy said often – so we wondered if she really understood. But when we were in Houston, about 18 months ago, she remarked to Steve that “she knew Jesus”. “Do you remember the time at the ranch?” she asked him. Amazingly, she remembered every detail.
But this is a time to celebrate the tie we had with Peggy – and in Matthew 9:2, Jesus calls for us to “be of good cheer”. We should not focus on the sadness, but on the fact that the work was already done for us – on the cross. We have the “Indescribable Gift”. Peggy is now in the arms of Jesus, looking straight in His beautiful face! She is with her family that went before her. As John 14:2 reminds us: “There are many rooms in my Father’s house, and I am going to prepare a place for you. If this were not so, I would tell you.”
Rest in peace Peggy. We will miss you, but we will see you again in heaven!
