She is survived by her mother, Donna and was preceded in death by her father, Bennie, who passed away in 2009. She is also survived by uncles and aunts, Keith and Gail Hiebner, Alfred and Betty Pollei, Gary and Karen Pollei and Aunt Pat Reed. She has many cousins as well as friends.
She attended special education classes here in Austin and graduated from Crockett High School in 1998. She worked for a short time at Cherry Creek Catfish Restaurant.
Rae Lynn never met a stranger and brought smiles to everyone she met. She loved sock monkeys; especially purple ones – that being one of her favorite colors. She loved music, mostly country, and from the time she could talk could tell you who was singing on the radio. Her very favorites were the Judds. For many years she carried their picture around with her. Other favorites were George Strait and Alan Jackson. We attended many concerts. She got to shake Wynonna’s hand and met Naomi at a book signing.
Recently she had been attending “The Austin Harmony Project” and had many friends. There she did arts and crafts but was especially fond of singing, even though her mike was turned down low because she had a tendency to belch real loud.
She had a great sense of humor and the cutest giggle ever. She also liked to dance – her favorite partner being Ronnie Dorsett. Ronnie and Rae Lynn had a very special relationship since her father died. He and his wife, Sandy were very important to her. On Saturdays, she was treated to shopping – very often at Callahan’s where she got to listen to a live band and pet rabbits, goats and pigs. But I believe her favorite part was eating out afterward where she nearly always ordered chicken quesadillas.
Rae Lynn has touched many lives in her short life. Her selfless gift of life will continue in others as she was an organ donor.
