Ralph W. “Chuck” Chapman, 88, passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2014 in Austin, Texas surrounded by his family. He was born on November 22, 1925 in Norwich, Connecticut to Ralph Wallace Chapman, Sr. and Anna Robinson Chapman.
Chuck proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, and friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents and beloved daughter, Cheryl Thompson. Chuck will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 60 years, Vera Chapman; devoted granddaughter, Michele Underwood and husband, Ashley; granddaughter, Denise Taylor and husband, Bryce; son-in law, Kit Thompson; great-grandchildren, Colin McMahan and fiancé’, Lauren Edmonson, Kenneth Knopp, Hayden McMahan, Joseph Underwood, and Athene Underwood; great-great-grandson, Felix Warren Underwood; and numerous other relatives.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 P.M., Friday, April 4, 2014 in the Nature Garden of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park.
