He began working for the Walter Tips Hardware Company in February 1939 but, due to the war, he joined the Air Force at Randolph Field, San Antonio, Texas, in June 1941. He was stationed on Guam and was honorably discharged in November 1945. He was reemployed by the Walter Tips Hardware Company in 1946 and retired in 1967.
He was a member of Parsons Masonic Lodge #222 and Hill City Lodge #456 for over 50 years. Likewise, he was a member of Onion Creek Lodge for several years, as well as a member of the Austin Scottish Rite for over 60 years. Being involved in these organizations was very important to him.
Ralph met and married the love of his life, Ella Beyer, in 1942. He and Ella’s retirement years were spent working in Yellowstone National Park for 15 summers and also traveling through the United States and Canada. He loved to share this experience with all whom would listen!
He enjoyed playing dominoes with several church groups and called all those he played with his dearest friends. The last few months were spent at Emeritus Assisted Living where he met and enjoyed getting to know many new friends. He loved watching Texas sports and especially followed his grandson, Greg, when he played baseball at UT.
He was a loving husband and a great father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Hildur and Harry Seibt, and his wife Ella who passed away in March 1997.
