Becky was a very caring and giving person. She understood the importance of uniting family and fun. She organized deep sea fishing trips, beach and lake vacations, cruises, seafood boils, birthday parties, and countless other gatherings. She retired from the IRS after 30 years of dedicated service. She enjoyed playing domino train, Skip Bo, and other games. Becky also had an adventurous spirit. She had fond memories of family camping trips at Kate’s Cove on Lake Travis. She was looking forward to a Hawaii cruise and exploring other new places.
Becky had a strong connection to the lake and beach, which is evident by all the seashells and coastal decor in her South Austin home. It was not unusual to find out that she booked a hotel in Port Aransas on a whim. She could spend countless hours sitting in a chair fishing, whether the fish were biting or not. She simply loved sitting next to others relaxing and enjoying the scenery, open air breeze, and telling stories.
Rebecca was preceded in death by parents Aline and George, half-sister Fran Herrington-Boor, and husband, best friend, and fishing partner August R. Motloch, Jr. She is survived by son Travis Neill Motloch (Meghan), grandchildren Aaliyah Claire Motloch and Hunter Hayes Motloch, brothers George Neill III, Terry Neill, sister Kristina Joy Shugart, stepdaughter Laura Turner (Raymond), stepson August R. Motloch III (Sandra), and numerous nieces and nephews.
Special thanks and gratitude to niece Karen Portillo, and daughters-in-law Meghan Motloch and Sandra Motloch for the loving support and companionship towards my mother Becky. I love you mom.
Rebecca will be cremated and a memorial service to follow at a later date. Please share your memories of Becky.
