

Richard married the love of his life Diane Ethel Vancil De Luna for 48 years on Valentines Day February 14, 1975. He was employed by Travis Central Appraisal District in Austin, Texas and retired after 25 years of service in 2008. He enjoyed woodworking, a skill he learned from his father. He excelled at making beautiful birdhouses that he shared with his family and friends.
Richard was an active member in the Knights of Columbus - serving as Grand Knight and achieved status in the Fourth Degree as a Faithful Navigator. He was an active member of St. Louis Catholic Church and volunteered in the school cafeteria for 12 years and in the Social Ministries.
He is survived by his wife Diane, his brothers, Jose De Luna and Robert De Luna (Bertha), sister, Margaret De Luna Saenz (Gilbert), numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family and friends of Richard will always carry your memory in their hearts.
A visitation for Richard will be held Thursday, January 25, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar, Austin, TX 78752, with a rosary service from 5:00 PM to 5:30 PM. A mass of christian burial will occur Friday, January 26, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St. Louis King of France Catholic Church, 7601 Burnet Rd., Austin, TX 78757. Followed by a committal service, Friday, January 26, 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at Austin Memorial Park Cemetery, 2800 Hancock Dr, Austin, TX 78731.
