

He is survived by his wife, Catherine of 56 years of marriage. He is also survived by their children Richard "Mike" and wife Kim, Chris and wife Karri, Pat and wife Cynthia, and Megan and husband Stephen; grandchildren: Michael, Marie, Melani and her husband Ted, Cole, Kaitlin, Mathew, Paul, Shannon and Emily; and great grandchildren: Elinor and Hadlie.
Richard was born in Tulsa, OK on September 24, 1931, attended Marquette schools in Tulsa, OK through high school, and graduated from St. Benedict College in Atchison, KS. Following college, Richard served as a 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Division. He had a successful career in large risk management, much of which was with The Williams Companies. During his "retirement" Richard continued to consult with various companies in OK and TX. Richard and his wife moved to Austin in 2010 to be closer to family. Richard loved golf, tennis, and volunteering for various organizations such as the United Way, Philbrook Art Museum in Tulsa, Boy Scouts of America, St. John's Hospital Auxiliary in Tulsa, Men's Club at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, and Seton Hospital in Austin.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 4311 Small Dr. Austin, TX, at 10 am on Monday, January 27.
