Rita "MeMe" Gorzycki

Rita was born on February 4,1924 in Frey, Louisiana, to parents Albert C. Fabacher and Barbara Schneider Fabacher. She graduated from Iota High School in 1941.

Rita married DeCheil Joseph Castille in November 1941 and they had 2 children, Barbara Castille and Patricia Castille Linder. In 1956 Rita moved with her 2 daughters to Bellville, Texas where she became employed as a secretary for Charpiot & Dunn Excavating Co. for 9 years.

She remarried in 1965 to Stanley Gorzycki of Brenham, Texas and relocated the family to Austin, Texas.

Rita became employed as a receptionist for Dr. George Bohuslav and remained there for many years. She then went to work at the old Seton Hospital with the Seton Auxiliary in charge of the gift shop and remained there until her retirement. She then took an interest in cake decorating opening her own cake business, Cakes by Rita, and enjoyed making beautiful cakes for 23 years.

She was predeceased by her parents, sister Lucille Gravot, brothers F.N. Fabacher and Phillip Fabacher, nephew Frank Gravot and niece Phyllis Fabacher Cart and numberous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and her husband Stanley Gorzycki. Rita will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

Rita is survived by her daughters Barbara Castille and Patricia Castille Linder, her granddaughters Christi Lindsey and husband Richard; Sara Harvel and husband Phillip; her great grandchildren Alexandra and Erin Lindsey, William, Hannah and Hailey Harvel; her brother Clarence Albert Fabacher and wife Mary Agnes and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation is Friday, February 3rd at Cook Walden Funeral Home on North Lamar Blvd. from 5-7 pm with a rosary following at 7 pm. Funeral service is at 10:30 am on Saturday, February 4th at St. Louis Catholic Church on Burnet Rd. Everyone is to go straight to the church on Saturday morning.
