

Robert Austin Herrington, born March 3, l925 to Virginia and Hilary A. Herrington died March 6, 2004 at The Summit at Westlake after a brief battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Pauline Herrington and his parents Virginia and Hilary A. Herrington. He is survived by his wife Allene Herrington of Lakeway; Daughter-Virginia Russell and husband Carl of Blanco, TX; Sons Bill Herrington and wife Debbie of Richmond, TX; Dan Herrington and wife Terri of Boerne, TX; Stepsons - Michiel Bridges and wife Yolanda of Hunt, TX; Patrick Bridges and wife Tonja from Heath, TX. Bob also leaves 9 Grandchildren; Kendra and Alisa Herrington, Stacie and Jason Herrington, Austin and Adam Russell, Jim Bridges, Michiel Bridges, Bailey Bridges and 1Great-Grandchild; Michiel Bridges. Bob has many dear friends in Lakeway and Baytown, Texas as well as Ruidoso, New Mexico. Bob graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Baytown, Texas, gave six years of service to his country in the United States Marine Corps and received his Bachelors Degree in Architectural Engineering from The University of Texas in Austin, Texas. A fisherman, hunter, scuba diver and general outdoorsman; Bob enjoyed the beauty of nature in general and specifically the mountains around Alto, New Mexico. He was a member of the Lakeway Community and Lakeway Ecumenical Church since 1983. Bob retired in 1983 after a 30 year career with Exxon in Baytown and The Arabian American Oil Company in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at The Summit at Westlake who cared for him. Bob and each member of his family felt tremendous and sincere love and concern from them during his time there. A memorial service will be held at the Lakeway Ecumenical Church Tuesday, March 9th at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lakeway Ecumenical Church or the American Cancer Society.
