Robert Melloy Montfort, 82, passed away on February 9, 2015. He was born in Danville, Illinois on October 21, 1932 to Dr. Roy Montfort and Mrs. Harriet Smith Montfort. He attended and graduated at Illinois School for the Deaf. In 1957, he participated in the Deaf Olympics as a swimming diver an won the silver medal in Milan, Italy. That’s where he met Joan Turner of England and married her. They produced a daughter, Ann Harriet. Robert and Joan moved to Austin, Texas in 2002 to be close with their daughter and her family.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years; his daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Andrew Horn and his precious grandchildren, Tullos Melloy and Tandra Mildred.
There will be no Funeral Service at this moment; however, there will be a Memorial Service sometime in March.
