

Robert "Bob" Allen Petty, age 84, of Kingsland, formerly of Austin passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2009. Bob was born to Granville Lewis and Ethel Barnard Petty on November 7, 1924 in Smithville, Texas where he graduated high school in 1942. Bob joined the Navy in 1942 and served in WW II until 1945, he was a Vice President of Lone Star Beer Co. in Austin. He was an avid fisherman and a founder of Capital Bass Club and a member of numerous other bass clubs. Preceded in death by his daughter, Robin Petty; brother, Leroy Petty; and sister, Janelle Johnson. Bob is survived by the mother of his children, Ruth Petty; children, Donna Hill and husband Gerald, Myrna Petty, Skip Petty and wife Susan; grandchildren, Cari Goodyear and husband Gary, Julie Turner and husband Robby, Brad Lind and wife Marcy, Christie Vaughn and husband Jeff, Trey Petty; great-grandchildren, Bailey and Libby Goodyear, Garett and McCann Turner, Kaylee and Brady Lind, Garrison and Megan Vaughn; brother, James Barnard Petty; and sister, Linda Klowetter. The family wishes to thank all the relatives and friends especially Joyce Morris. Visitation will be held 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at Weed-Corley-Fish South Congress. Funeral Service will be 11:00 am, Thursday, January 15, 2009 at Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel with Reverend Mark Gardner officiating. Interment will follow at Capital Memorial Park in Pflugerville. Serving as pallbearers will be Brad Lind, Trey Petty, Gary Goodyear, Robby Turner, Jeff Vaughn, and James Barnard Petty. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or Leukemia Society.
