
Robert Bethune Sears was born November 19, 1951 to Anne Bethune and Warren Hooper Sears in Saginaw, Michigan. He grew up in Lake Jackson, Texas. After battling lymphoma for several months, he died suddenly on March 18, 2007. Bob is survived by his sister Elizabeth and niece Rachel Sears of Austin, Texas; his brother and sister-in-law Tom Sears and Candyce Byrne of Wharton, Texas; his nephews Mike and Chris Sears and Chriss wife Jennifer Robson and sons Michael and Benjamin, all of Austin. Bob dearly loved the many dogs, who were his children, he had during his life. He is survived by his Shiloh Shepherd, Mars and Collie, Buddy. Bob was an avid Jaycee and a proud member of the Texas Jaycee Senate and the Rattlesnake Corp. He worked in the drilling support industry for the last 30 years in Houston. Bob was a good friend to many; he cared deeply for his family, friends and community. After his home was destroyed in a fire he helped many who suffered a similar tragedy. Funeral services will be Thursday March 22 at 1:00 pm at the Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, at 3125 N. Lamar, Austin. Burial will follow at Austin Memorial Park.
