

Roger William Hight, 76, of Austin, Texas died on April 13th, 2025.
He was born in Dallas, Texas to his father, Joseph Carey Hight and his mother, Jean Shirley Corse Hight. His biological mother passed away when Roger was 3-years-old, and he was raised by his Father and stepmother, Mary Helen Cason Hight whom he called Mom.
Roger graduated from Justin F. Kimball High School in Dallas and was a member of the Navy League Cadets. After high school, he attended college before volunteering for service in the Army during the Vietnam War where he served two tours of duty with the 101st Airborne Division before being honorably discharged and awarded several medals including a medal of valor.
After his service in the Army, Roger earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from North Texas State University as well as a Masters in Audiology. He worked as an audiologist for many years before joining the Texas Depart of Assistance and Rehabilitative Services where he supervised social security disability examiners.
Roger had a big heart and was a good listener. He loved his family and friends very much and was always willing and eager to lend a helping hand. Some of his passions included woodworking and cooking. He will be sorely missed.
He married his wife Becky on May 6,1999. Roger loved his wife very much and was a devoted husband. Roger and Becky both loved animals and adopted and rehabilitated several dogs over the years. They also loved to play pool together and had standing dates for couple's pool night every Monday and Wednesday at their home.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents and stepmother, brother Geno Hight, and sister Martha Helen Hight Orr. He is survived by his wife Becky Hight, daughters Carey Hight and Susan Hight, sons Matt Williams and Joel Emal, Joel's wife Susan Emal, sister Arlene Reeves and her husband Bruce, and brother Bowden Hight and his wife Tiffany and their children Akemi, Starr and Mattox, and their grandchildren Alliyah, Daxton, and Jordan. Roger is survived by 2 grandchildren, Violet Lucille Hight-Lincoln and Noah Emal.
