

Rocky lived in Manchaca, TX, with his wife of 14 years, MarianneSue. He was born January 30, 1946 in San Antonio. He graduated in 1964 from Mary Carroll High School in Corpus Christi and then attended the University of Texas at Austin where he was a member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity and moonlighted as a “starving” musician. He left UT to pursue a career in the auto industry that spanned five decades and was spent in the communities of Corpus Christi, Galveston, and Austin. Rocky loved tennis - particularly when it came to watching his sons and his grandchildren play - and all things UT football. He loved reading and was a talented writer.
Rocky was preceded in death by his parents, Graydon and Mary Stone Lair and his sister, Betty Parma. He is survived by his wife, two sons, Eric and Monty, and two grandchildren, McKinleigh and Graydon.
A remembrance and celebration of Rocky’s life will take place on May 30, 2015 by invitation. Friends and family will share their fondest memories of Rocky and toast in his honor. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Austin Animal Center, 7201 Levander Loop Austin, TX 78702.
