Ronald Anthony Muhich, 73, passed away on March 6, 2025 after a 25 year battle with Congestive heart failure (CHF). Ron was born on November 15, 1951 in Moline, Illinois to parents Frank and Dolores Muhich. He was a devoted husband to Barbara and a loving father to Mike, Chris, Ronnie and Shannon. Ron was preceded in death by both his parents, his sister Marietta Muhich, and eldest daughter Christina Kenner. Ron is survived by his brother Frank Muhich, of Mahomet, Illinois, brother John and wife Jeri Muhich of Austin, Texas, 2 nieces, 6 nephews, 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Ron cherished his family and purchased property in Liberty Hill, Texas where his family could live close to him and Barb. They loved living in the country with the family’s many dogs to keep them company. He was a “Jack of all trades,” with skills in many areas of construction, often working in the self-storage industry with his brother John.
Ron knew for many years that he was living on borrowed time. The following poem expressed his feelings, for he sent it to his family more than once over the years.
When Tomorrow Starts Without Me
By David Romano
When tomorrow starts without me,
And I’m not there to see,
If the sun should rise and find your eyes
All filled with tears for me,
I wish so much you wouldn’t cry
The way you did today,
While thinking of the many things,
We didn’t get to say.
I know how much you love me,
As much as I love you,
And each time that you think of me,
I know you’ll miss me too.
But when tomorrow starts without me,
Please try to understand,
That an angel came and called my name,
And took me by the hand,
And said my place was ready,
In heaven far above,
And that I’d have to leave behind
All those I dearly love.
A service of Remembrance will be held on June 10, 2025 at Cook Walden Funeral Home, 6100 N. Lamar Blvd. Austin, Texas 78752, with a family gathering to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to a charity of your choosing.
