Rosina was a lovely, elegant woman – full of life and always up for adventure: off to the University of Rome at 17; serving as a multi-lingual interpreter in WWII; coming to America in 1948; and even taking a hot air balloon ride at age 85. Rosina liked to travel, loved to shop but her real love was for her family. This love was felt and returned. She was more than a Wife, Mother or Oma – she was the person you came to – a best friend. She will be greatly missed.
Rosina was preceded in death by a younger sister; her parents, Josef and Rosina Lininger Zarbl; and her first two husbands, Albert Rumfeld (father of Heinz) who was killed in WWII in 1943 and Carl W. Gaylord (father of Carol Sue and adoptive father of Heinz) who was career military and married to Rosina for 40 years until his death in 1989.
She is survived by her long-time friend and husband of six years, Clive A. Lynn; son and wife, Heinz and Julie Gaylord; daughter and husband, Carol Sue and George Higginbotham; step-daughters, Beverly and Pam Lynn; grandchildren, Amy and husband Gordon Beaver, Eric Gaylord, Mike and wife Cheri Higginbotham, Christy and husband John Batkins; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
The family expresses their great appreciation to Dr. Terry Chambliss and his staff, Cheryl Selle and Amy Lagassey; to Dr. Judith Betts and her staff, especially Dana Allen; and to Hospice Austin.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 2nd at Capital Parks Cemetery, 14501 North IH-35 in Pflugerville with Father Oliver of St. Louis Catholic Church officiating.
If desired, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice.
