I have known Roy Campbell over 40 years.  It was a great pleasure serving with him at RAF Alconbury, Huntingdon, England, 1975 - 1976.  Roy resided in the same barracks as me.  I always appreciated his keen sense of humor, and he was fun to chat with,  now and then.  My last contact with Roy was when I saw him and his family at the Holiday Inn on Lady Bird Lake for our Christmas dinner, a few years ago.  My sincere sympathy is extended to his entire family, along with his friends, acquaintances. and relatives!

I always remember Roy with a smile on his face, and that always made me smile, he had that kind of impact on people.   My deepest sympathy to Angela and the family, my thoughts and prayers are with you.

I was fortunate and proud to have served with Roy at the Royal Air Force Alconbury base in England.   He was a very professional Senior non-commissioned officer that I looked up to and tried to emulate.    I remember him as a true gentleman, a very nice man, who was family oriented and had a great sense of humor.    My thoughts, prayers and deepest sympathy are with his family at this time.  RIP Roy, I will render my final salute for now, until I see you again sir.

Roy, was one of the leaders of our team at RAF Alconbury with others like  Ed Gates, Frank Moses, Mike Sherman and other greats like Mike Murtha, Sam Love, Bill Shoaf and more...it was one of my best assignments and I will always cherish the memories.  Prayers to Roy's family.

When I think of Roy I remember that he was always kind to me and a bit of a joker.  I know your family will miss him dearly.  May God give you comfort through this difficult time.

So sorry to hear of Roy's passing.  He was such a wonderful man.  My prayers are with you and the family.

Roy it was such a joy to know you. Your love of life was contagious. Your smile was so bright. And your heart was bigger than the world. I know you are smiling down on us and asking us not to grieve too much. Love and miss you very much.

I'll be hoisting a big fat drink to this man's honor and memory. Once again, I want to thank him for accepting me for who I am. I really enjoyed the brief time I got to enjoy his energy. No words can express the shock and sadness I feel of Roy's passing.  He was such an amazing husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many.  So blessed to have Roy's poem that he wrote for my father before his passing a few months ago.  Both of them are together now sharing some lovely memories. Roy was a treasured friend, I will really miss him.  I worked in the same bay with Roy for over 10 years.  I will say that hardly an hour went by that he didn't mention something about one of his family members.  I could see how devoted and how very proud he was of each and every one of you.
