

Russell J. Brennan of Wellesley Hills, Massachusetts and Austin, Texas died on May 19th, 2006 after a long and courageous battle with carcinoid cancer. His will to live and his incredibly positive attitude were a true testament to his character. Born in Lynn, Massachusetts, on August 2nd, 1954, he was the son of Lillian Brennan and the late Russell L. Brennan. He was a graduate of St. Marys High School and received a B.S. in Economics from Boston College and an M.B.A. from New York University. He held various financial roles at Schlumberger/Fairchild and Texas Instruments from 1978 to 1988. From 1988 to 2002, Mr. Brennan served as Vice President of Finance and Corporate Controller at Analog Devices, Inc., in Norwood, Massachusetts. Mr. Brennan joined Silicon Laboratories in Austin, Texas, in September 2002 as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. In addition to his business activities, Mr. Brennan was an avid golfer and was a member of the Wellesley Country Club and the Austin Country Club. He also loved to travel and sample new environments, regional foods and wines, and golf courses. Mr. Brennan was a fun-loving and beloved husband, friend, neighbor and a much-loved uncle to his many nieces and nephews. He was able to spend a great deal of time with his sisters children, Anthony and Elizabeth of New York City, as they grew up, and he was especially close to them. He was predeceased by his father, Russell L. Brennan. He is survived by his mother, Lillian, of Lynn, Massachusetts, his wife, Anne, of Wellesley and Austin; his sister, Janice DeLuise, of New York City; sisters and brothers-in-law, Louise and Joe Burke of Chandler, Arizona, Annette and Dale Race of Arlington, Virginia, and all their children. The family would like to thank Dr. Jaffer Ajani and the staff of the MD Anderson Cancer Center. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, May 22, 2006 at the Henry J. Burke Funeral Home in Wellesley Hills, Massachusetts. A funeral Mass will be held at St. John the Evangelist Church, 9 Glen Road in Wellesley Hills on Tuesday, May 23, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. A Memorial service for Mr. Brennan will be held in Austin at a date to be announced.
